Festivals

There are a multitude of festivals which are celebrated in Bolivia. Including the El Gran Ponder, which takes place in La Paz. It celebrates Jesus and the Lord’s power.
Other festivals include the Carnaval de Oruro, and Ñatita festival which a Bolivian version of the Day of the Dead.

Art

Includes detailed rock art. Thee art work known as petroglyphs, dates back thousands of years.
Different mediums include colourful, patterned decorative clothes
Also in architecture, on buildings and walls carvings and ornaments.

Food

Food is a big part of Bolivian culture with lots of the food originating from hundreds of years ago. These include Anticuchos, Cunape and Saltenas. Most traditional foods, come from farming rural lands as they contain flour and vegetables.

Native Peoples

Nearly 40 % of Bolivians are Indigenous, the main groups living in Bolivia include the Highland Aymara and Quechua people which make up 3.5 million people.
The native people face challenges of western expansion. Especially through logging, cattle ranching and Cocoa cultivation.
